In the past few days we have repeatedly been asked about the future of the DIC Performance Resins site in Vienna due to an incorrect press report published on 23 July 2010. We should like to make it clear at once that our location in Vienna will continue to exist. We specialise in producing and marketing specialty resins, and this has led to the need to restructure our Vienna operations.
On 1 July 2010 our mother-company, the DIC Cooperation, has agreed to form a contractual joint venture (CJV) with Spolchemie, which will result in the transfer of the production of alkyd resins to the Czech partner. The contractual joint venture only concerns this product group, and all other areas of production will continue to be handled by DIC Performance Resins in Vienna. The CJV forms part of the current restructuring exercise at our company, and is aimed at enabling us to focus on our key technologies, such as acrylics, polyester polyols, polyurethanes and dispersions at our Vienna plant.
We can assure that we will continue with our key technologies to be at disposal as an expert partner and supplier.
